Desktop Technician required in Corporate Services Division (ICT)
Salary Scale: R644 518.52 - R 922 597.66
Minimum Requirements:
* Matric
* National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6) or equivalent plus
3-5 years' experience in ICT environment.
* A+, Network+, MCP Certification not required but a plus.
* Excellent technical knowledge of desktop hardware and software, including Windows 2007, Windows XP, Windows 7/10 and Microsoft Office 365.
* Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Knowledge on Cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, etc
* Knowledge of remote desktop tools, such as RDP, TeamViewer, or VNC.
* Valid Driver's License

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist staff with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of Desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software and the network where needed.
* Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with Desktop computing equipment and software.
* Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer Conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.
* Document and track all support requests and resolutions using the Magalies Water Helpdesk system.
* Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software.
* Create and maintain user guides and troubleshooting documentation for common issues.

* Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases
* Ensure compliance with IT policies and best practices, including data backup, antivirus updates, and user access management. Maintain telephone systems
